La progettazione/prenotazione del viaggio avanza. Il tempo mancante un pò meno.
La WindhorseTour ha risposto e tutto il viaggio con loro sarebbe stato per me finanziariamente insostenibile.
Abbiamo trovato un accordo : una settimana con guida a Pechino e poi il resto vedrò di farlo da solo.
Sto valutando seriamente la possibilità di ridurre il viaggio a 3 settimane e non un mese. La dittatura della disponibilità economica non lascia scampo. Vedremo.
In compenso (sperando non sia una fregatura) l'hotel a Pechino sarà questo. Pare una meraviglia!

Day 01 - Jan. 18: Beijing Airport pick-up (@14:45) / Free & easy on your own
Your guide and driver will pick you up from Beijing Airport upon you get there in the afternoon. From there they will chauffeur you back to your hotel, have a good rest on your first day in China.

Day 02 - Jan. 19: Beijing sightseeing, visit Tian'anmen Square, Mao Mausoleum, Forbidden City (B)
After breakfast, your will begin your first day of sightseeing in Beijing accompanied by your guide. Your first stop will be Tiananmen Square, the largest square in the world which is now an assembling place for the Chinese people on important festival occasions such as the New Year Celebration.
In the middle of Tiananmen Square there’s another highly popular attraction - Mao Mausoleum (Mausoleum of Mao Zedong). It is the final resting place of Mao Zedong – the most famous Chairman in Chinese history. His body was embalmed and construction of a mausoleum began shortly after his death. In the north end of Tian'anmen Square, you will find the Forbidden City which used to be the living and working quarter of 24 ancient Chinese emperors.

Day 03 - Jan. 20: National Chinese Museum and the Pearl Market (B)
Today you will head over to Tian’anmen Square again, because the National Museum of China flanks the eastern side of Tiananmen Square. This museum covers Chinese history from the Yuanmou Man of 1.7 million years ago to the end of the Qing Dynasty (the last imperial dynasty), has a permanent collection of
1,050,000 items, with many precious and rare artifacts not to be found in museums anywhere else in China or the rest of the world. Afterwards go to Beijing Hongqiao Pearl Market to enjoy the variety of pearls and jewelry; you may pick some for friends and family.

Day 04 - Jan. 21: Beijing sightseeing, visit St. Joseph's Church, Worker's Culture Hall, Yonghe
Temple, Confucius Temple, Nanluoguo Xiang and the night markets (B) Today you will visit several interesting sites with different styles. St. Joseph's Church – commonly known as Wangfujing Church, it is an early 20th-century Romanesque Revival church that is one of the four historic Catholic churches in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Beijing. Worker's Culture Hall – there are many different Worker's Culture Halls in Beijing, most of them have been reconstructed to cinemas. If you don’t have specific requirement about which one to visit then we will arrange you visit the nearest one. Yonghe Temple – also known as the "Lama Temple", is a temple and monastery of the Geluk School of Tibetan Buddhism located in the northeastern part of Beijing. The building and the artworks of the temple is a combination of Han Chinese and Tibetan styles. Confucius Temple – it is the second largest Confucian Temple in China, after the one in Confucius' hometown of Qufu. This temple was built in 1302, and officials used it to pay their respects to Confucius until 1911. Nanluoguo Xiang and the night markets – it’s just a few kilometers from the Forbidden City. It is one of the oldest streets in Beijing. Many celebrities’ former residences are located in the hutongs around Nanluogu Xiang, and many restaurants, cafes bars and special shops are set up there as well.

Day 05 - Jan. 22: Beijing sightseeing, visit Jingshan Park, Dongyue Temple, White Cloud Temple, Temple of Heaven, Panjiayuan Market /Overnight at Beijing (B)
Morning drive to Jingshan Park, is a public park located at the north of Forbidden City, the focal point is the artificial hill Jingshan, literally "Prospect Hill". Then head over to Dongyue Temple, it is a Taoist temple and dedicated to the God of Mount Tai. Next stop is the White Cloud Temple (Bai Yun Guan), it’s another Taoist temple. And it is one of "The Three Great Ancestral Courts" of the Complete Perfection School of Taoism, and is titled "The First Temple
under Heaven". Later afternoon you will visit Temple of Heaven, a holy place for the Chinese people where ancient Chinese emperors went annually to offer sacrifices to the God of Heaven and pray for an abundant harvest. Last stop for today is Panjiayuan Market (aka Beijing Antique Market), it’s the biggest and best-known arts, crafts, and antiques market.

Day 06 - Jan. 23: One day tour to Mutianyu Great Wall and Ming Tombs (Changling) (B)
In the morning, after 2.5 hours of drive, you will reach Mutianyu Great Wall, a less-crowded section of the Great Wall where cable cars (fee is not included) are available to take you up and down a good section. You can stroll freely through the watch towers and enjoy a panoramic view of the wall winding its way
across hills and mountains. Afternoon drive back to town and you will spend a pleasant afternoon visiting Changling, a well-preserved major tomb among a cluster of Ming tombs which is located about 50 kilometers northwest of Beijing center.

Day 07 - Jan. 24: Half-day tour to visit the Summer Palace / Beijing - Datong by train (B)
Today you will visit the Summer Palace, an original royal garden and a temporary dwelling palace for emperors of Qing Dynasty, which is mainly dominated by Longevity Hill and Kunming Lake. It is declared "a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design" by UNESCO. Afternoon, your guide will escort you and ensure you safely board the train to Datong. It’s the end of your travel with WindhorseTour.

Viaggerò in treno, viaggi notturni in cuccetta, per 'ottimizzare' lo spostamento e risparmiare il costo della notte in hotel.
E speriamo bene, che viaggiare in treno durante lo Spring Festival mi dicono essere impresa non da poco, dato che praticamente il 50% della Cina si sposta contemporaneamente per la festa.
Gli acquisti di tutto quanto sarà propedeutico alla partenza e al non farsi sorprendere durante il viaggio incrementano.
Per ora ho preso :
- un sacco di guide e libri
- uno smartphone per l'internet (con VPN), gps, guide e traduttori vari
- una cintura con scomparto 'nascondi-soldi'
- una 'tasca/marsupio segreta' per tenere soldi e documenti da indossare sotto i vestiti onde evitare furti con destrezza in mezzo alla (temo inevitabile) calca
- 6 mascherine antismog per sopravvivere all'aria di Pechino (mi dicono che non se ne trovano più in città tanto son vendute (e necessarie))
Aggiungo poi alla lista un bel regalo fattomi da due amici che non dovevano disturbarsi ma che mi han preso qualcosa di veramente molto utile e gradito : un cappello/copri-collo in pile caldissimo e una maglia termica.
Più organizzo e più mi trovo a dover reprimere la strisciante ma costante sensazione di star facendo una follia. Poi guardo le foto dei posti dove andrò e tutto passa.
